What the checker looks at

Five findings from 2026 search research, each printed with its source. No opinions, no borrowed logos.

Princeton GEO study

Statistics lifted AI visibility about 32%, cited sources about 30%, quotable statements about 41%.

Extraction research

Roughly 44% of AI citations come from a page’s first 200 words.

Semrush

Promotional tone cut citation likelihood about 26%. Q&A formatting lifted it about 25%.

Google, May 2026

Commodity content loses, first-hand specifics win.

SE Ranking

About 80% of top-three results shifted in the March 2026 core update toward first-party sources.

Per-engine tracking

Perplexity prefers content under 12 months. Current-year signals lift citation odds about 30%.

Single-vendor figures are directional, not laws of physics, and the checker reads patterns rather than meaning, so it can misjudge a line. We say so plainly, because a tool that flags inflated claims should not make any of its own.

Is my copy uploaded anywhere?

No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. There is no server and no account. Your copy is never uploaded or seen by us. Only your name, email and the five results are sent, and only if you submit a form.

What is GEO?

Generative engine optimisation: making a page visible and quotable to AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude, the way SEO does for classic rankings. This is a free GEO checker for the copy layer, the words at the top of your homepage.

Can I run a competitor’s page?

Yes. Paste their copy and name and the lens reads it the same way. If their homepage hands the engines a quotable sentence and yours does not, that is the most useful thing a free tool can teach you.

Can I see the exact rules?

The research is public and cited above. How we weighted it into a working lens stays in-house, the way a recipe prints its ingredients and keeps the method in the kitchen.

Is this an SEO audit?

No. It reads only the words you paste. A full audit also covers rankings, competitors, schema and site speed, none of which are visible from copy. It is the fastest useful check, not the last one. That fuller work is the Growth Roadmap.
