Top 20 most influential tweeters in eLearning, training and HR

Share

When the UK newspaper Independent I named Sarah Brown Britain's most influential tweeter last month, all of us here at Now Towers got to wondering: Wouldn't it be cool to compile a hot-list of influential tweeters operating exclusively in eLearning, training and HR? So we asked everyone we know in the webucation business (that's quite a lot of people) to name their tweeter of choice.  Presented below, our "Top 20 most influential tweeters in eLearning, training and HR" chart is what you get when you ask over 500 marketers working in training, eLearning and HR to nominate just one tweeter worth following?

How it all works?
First up, it's important to understand that this list collates the opinion of business and marketing people working in webucation.  This may be why a number of the hi-tech talkers we're used to seeing in lists of webucation's online influencers have not made it onto our Top 20 while new, relatively unknown, tweeters are highlighted for the first time.

Everyone in Now's webucation community (that's people like you who read this content or help generate it) is almost certainly going to have a keen interest in marketing: Over 90% work in, or influence, the marketing departments of the training, eLearning or HR companies they work in.

In the top 20 list below, we've used the online measurement tool Klout to indicate a tweeter's general influence across the wider online community (check out how Klout works here), but Klout scores (which are next to the icons in our chart) have little or no correlation to the personal preferences of the business and marketing people who helped us generate our top 20 influencers in webucation.

Secondly, it helps to know where participating voters are: Just over 40% of nominations for influential tweeters come from marketing orientated training, eLearning and HR professionals based in the United States.  Just under 40% of voters are based in Europe (80% of European voters are UK based, the rest - in order of participation - come from France, Germany, Spain, Norway and Italy) The remaining 20% are located in Oceania or India.

= Klout score out of 100 = tweeter's location = tweet name
